Thrasher Engineering's Land Surveying Department performs a wide range of services, not only in conjunction with Thrasher Engineering projects, but independently for both public and private clients. Our seven survey crews are led by Kurt Newbrough, P.S. who is a Principal in the company. He and his staff, which includes three additional staff members with Professional Surveyor certifications, conduct surveys for a wide variety of projects, including:
- Pre and post mine subsidence surveys
- GPS ground control surveys for aerial mapping
- Right-of-way surveying.
- Landfill closure surveys

- Construction layout for site development projects,
highways, railroads, sanitary sewer systems and
wastewater treatment plants

Our survey crews have also earned a positive reputation due to Thrasher Engineering's fundamental value that safety is always a primary consideration. Along with our overall corporate safety policy, we have a Comprehensive Mine Safety Program as well as a Permit Required Confined Space Entry Program. Our survey crew members have received training and receive annual refresher courses by an independent approved instructor.
